Sr Product Manager VxWorks Middleware at Wind River

Job Description

Wind River is looking for a Senior Product Manager of VxWorks middleware. Reporting to the Director of VxWorks Tools and Middleware, this position is a key role responsible for supporting Wind River’s middleware components, including networking, for the VxWorks operating system and Wind River’s certified operating systems. The key objective of this position is to ensure Wind River is delivering industry leading embedded software middleware to help drive adoption and sales of Wind River software platforms.
This position requires proven skills defining successful technology products, experience with real-time operating systems, software development tools and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Skills

Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Support Wind River VxWorks networking stack and associated multicore and cert features
· Capture, prioritize and document customer and market requirements, and translate this understanding into strategies, roadmaps, and product requirements for delivery by engineering
· Developing business cases, Market Requirements Documents, Product Requirement Documents, and Use Cases
· Collaborate with Wind River engineering and operations teams to deliver required products and capabilities
· Support the creation of white papers, articles, and sales tools
· Market the capabilities and solutions through close collaboration with Wind River Industry Marketing and Corporate Marketing teams
· Support sales activities by working closely with Wind River’s direct and indirect sales channels, field engineering, and customer support
· Establish key customer, sales, and partner relationships domestically and internationally
· Launch and promote products through conferences, literature, evaluations, sales tools/materials, and other promotional activities.
Requirements:
· Product management experience in the software industry is required
· Experience with embedded software tools is required
· Several years of business and/or technical experience in the embedded software industry preferred
· Highly organized, detail-oriented and possessing a high level of integrity
· Ability to multi-task and follow-through on multiple projects and programs
· Effective planning and prioritization skills
· Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a cross-functional and team-oriented environment
· Strong written, oral and presentation skills
· Understanding of embedded hardware architectures, including Intel, ARM, PowerPC and MIPS
· Technical degree (EE or CS) required, MBA is a plus
